Bright Breaks Raises $1 Million To Prioritize Employee Well-Being

Employees across the globe have experienced a significant decline in personal well-being due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In fact, employee well-being is at the lowest it’s been since the 2008 recession. (1,2)

This has a direct relation to the decline in engagement and performance many employers are facing. Research shows that employee well-being and engagement are reciprocal – when one declines so does the other. When they collaborate, they promote a thriving work environment where employees are productive and less likely to burn out. (1,2)

In response, Bright Breaks has developed a solution to address the well-being crisis. In partnership with existing and new investors, including WELL Health, they’ve raised one million in new financing to bring live well-being classes to employees across the globe.

In addition, David Wilson, President of Wilsons Security and Members of the board of directors of Innovacorp will be joining the Bright Breaks board of directors to bring his expertise in startups and financing.

Bright Breaks offers a subscription product called Bright Pass, which allows companies to offer a turn-key well-being program and provide employees with access to hundreds of live classes each week, including:

  • Yoga
  • Meditation and mindfulness
  • Fitness
  • Nutrition and cooking
  • Expert-led keynotes on finance, sleep, and more

All from the comfort of their home or work.

“Your approach is brilliant; it totally democratizes employees’ access to health and well-being. And who knew how powerful it could be just to hear someone say your name on the other end of the screen!” – Nikos Psaltoppouslos, Bright Breaks Customer, MarineTraffic

Bright Breaks Funds Will Be Used To Enhance Member Experience

With the funds raised, Bright Breaks will be focusing on doubling down on their world-class live content experience to improve employee access and convenience. They recently opened a new studio in Vancouver to expand live content on the West Coast of North America.

In addition to expanding class availability, Bright Breaks is also hiring more team members and educators. This will give Bright Pass members a wider variety of well-being classes to choose from.

Bright Breaks is expanding their content with member experience in mind. Next month they’ll be launching a social feed where users can view classes their teammates are taking. From there they can directly sign up for classes. Funds will also be used to upgrade video streaming quality, further improving employee connection.

Bright Breaks’ Global Well-Being Initiative

Employees’ physical, mental, and social well-being is crucial for both feeling their best and delivering their best work. When employees’ well-being needs are not being met, this directly impacts their engagement and performance on the job.

With Bright Breaks recently celebrating their first year, they’ve helped thousands of professionals improve their complete well-being – and they’re just getting started. They recently hosted a Birthday Challenge that encouraged members to make well-being a consistent part of their routine.

Bright Breaks will continue to host challenges like this to promote its mission to inspire and prioritize employee well-being. This will help employees show up with the energy and focus they need to perform their best.

“We believe that employee well-being – physical, mental, and social – is essential to building thriving company cultures, and we exist to make that part of every company’s DNA.” – David Howe, CEO of Bright

With funding secured, Bright Breaks intends to expand their reach and see through their goal to have one million employees across the globe improve their well-being by taking weekly Bright Breaks by the end of 2025. This will foster a future of healthier, more engaged employees.
